Assistant Accountant - Construction (Retail / Commercial Fit Out)

Roles & Responsibilities

General Summary:

The Assistant Accountant in completing accounting tasks for company, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, preparing company budgets, bank reconciliations and financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks.
• Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
• Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payables, receivables and purchase orders.
• Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
• Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
• Verify payments and deposits made through the company account and coordinate with the bank.
• Create weekly reports for management and team members.
• Provides day-to-day co-ordination and scheduling of activities to ensure that proceeding, operations, and accounting timeframes are met.
• Assists in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report.
• Provides accounting-related information to internal and external auditors.
• Liaises with tax agent on the tax affairs of the Company and its Subsidiaries.
• Quarterly, ensure the accuracy of GST reports submission to IRAS.
• Cash flow management.
• Underake any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in order to maintain staffing flexibility and efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

• Diploma / Degree in Accountancy or professional accounting qualification, with working knowledge of Singapore standards tax and GST regulations.
• At least 2 years relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with computerized accounting systems.
• Independent, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Possess good communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Hands-on knowledge of XERO Accounting system applications.
