Roles & Responsibilities
ONSITE JOB PROFILE
1. Provide sustaining engineering support for oil and gas downhole completion tools.
2. Evaluate customer inquiries and requirements to determine appropriate product selection, sizing, torque, and conformance to standards.
3. Prepare complete design packages, including calculations, 3D models, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and validation documents.
4. Conduct design analysis in accordance with company standards, industry codes (ASME, API etc.), and customer requirements.
5. Select and apply appropriate materials (metals, coatings, elastomers) based on application-specific needs.
6. Develop and maintain engineering documentation, such as procedures, assembly drawings, check layouts, torque charts, and DFMEA data.
7. Participate in R&D efforts to develop new tool designs and drive improvements in existing product lines.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Service, Manufacturing, Quality) to troubleshoot and coordinate order execution.
9. Manage documentation for customer sales orders, including product structure, change history, assembly, and testing requirements.
10. Support NCR resolution and contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization across departments.
11. Utilize PLM for product lifecycle management, including data integration, change control, versioning, and CAD / BOM coordination.
REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE JOB DUTIES
a) Bachelor of Engineering / Technology (B.E. / B. Tech : equivalent to BS / Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering and Sub-branches.
b) 10-15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas tool design.
c) Experience in design and development of downhole tools and accessories.
d) 8-10 years of experience in CAD and ECO / ECR coordination.
e) High degree of proficiency in CAD Applications, Legacy conversion, Product Design, Product Data Management (PDM), Parametric 3D Modeling methodologies and Quality Controls
f) Design knowledge and understanding of industrial standards ASME, BPVC, API etc.
g) Hands on experience in SAP / ERP preferred.
h) Knowledge of SolidWorks software is essential.
i) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels within engineering organization.
