UWCSEA is looking for a Senior Development Manager (Major
Gifts) to join the college.
Reporting directly
to the Head of Fundraising, the Senior Development Manager will
help advance the College mission through direct fundraising,
strategic communications and internal and external partnerships.
The Senior Development Manager will build relationships with major
donors in the UWCSEA community to support a multi-million dollar
fundraising target annually. Funds raised will support key
mission-aligned priorities in areas including scholarships,
sustainability and innovation. The role will also grow
relationships that support increased fundraising targets as the
College prepares for a fundraising campaign to advance the growing
impact of the College and our mission.
The
Senior Development Manager will independently manage a personal
portfolio of prospects and donors and will be expected to meet
ambitious fundraising goals. The position will be a key driver in
building the capacity of the College to implement a strategic
fundraising programme, while growing the culture of philanthropy
among stakeholders, and broadening and deepening our base of
supporters to bring greater impact to our students and
mission.
Main
Responsibilities
Proactively lead on fundraising through the cultivation
and solicitation of major gifts, including :
portfolio of approximately 100-120 prospective donors including
high net worth individuals, corporations and foundations with the
capacity to make significant gifts to UWCSEA
and implementing strategies that reach and engage new and existing
donors through personal visits and calls with major donors and
prospects for the purpose of qualification, cultivation,
solicitation, and stewardship
for the stewardship of gifts solicited, including working with
members of educational leadership who are responsible for
implementing donor-funded programmes and reporting to donors on the
impact of their gifts
Develop compelling
bespoke written proposals for major gift prospects and supporting
the Head of Fundraising in development of other fundraising
collateral where appropriate.
Complete gift
agreements and other materials / processes needed to define, secure
and document gifts to the College in line with existing processes,
including adherence to gift acceptance policies and
procedures
In collaboration with other members
of the team and the wider College community identify major gift
prospects and develop compelling engagement strategies to solicit,
close, and steward gifts as outlined above.
Maintain accurate records of contacts with donors and
prospects using the CRM system and support the continued
development of CRM best practices
Contribute
to the strategic direction of fundraising efforts to further
develop the vision for fundraising at UWCSEA.
Support the wider fundraising and engagement activities
at UWCSEA as
required.
Person
Specifications
At least 7 years of development / advancement experience,
including focus on major gifts and experience working in a campaign
environment
Demonstrated success in raising
leadership level gifts in a nonprofit or education related
organisation; results-oriented with a passion for increasing
support for the College
A strong track record
of raising significant gifts from individuals
A proven ability to establish, cultivate and steward
strong professional relationships with stakeholders to build
lifelong partnerships and trust, while aligning their passions with
the mission, priorities and goals of UWCSEA
Outstanding communications skills, including the ability
to write compellingly and persuasively in support of philanthropic
goals
Chinese language proficiency is strongly
preferred
Innovative, self-motivated, able to
think strategically in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple
projects well, working both independently and as a collaborative
team member
Excellent interpersonal skills in
a group and individual setting; positive, enthusiastic,
collaborative and a team player
Flexible,
creative, resourceful and self motivated, with a willingness to go
the extra mile to meet the needs of the mission and excellent
organisational and analytical skills; the ability to manage
multiple projects effectively and maintain a high degree of
professionalism and confidentiality in a team-oriented, complex

Familiarity with a customer
relationship management (CRM) system, preferably in a fundraising
environment
Ability to maintain
confidentiality at all times respecting the confidential nature of
donor information and the School's business
practices
