Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Position : Technical Chemist
  • Well Established Oleochemicals Supplier MNC
  • Working Hours : Monday - Friday (9am - 6pm)
  • Salary (commensurate with experience) : Up to $5,000 + AWS + Variable Bonus
  • Working Location : Pasir Panjang
  • Outpatient Medical Benefits and Dental Benefits Provided
  • Duration : Permanent

Main Responsibilities :

Customer Technical Servicing

  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance on all product and process technical requirements.
  • Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to ensure that customer technical requirements are met on time.
  • Provide technical advice (e.g., product specifications, applications, quality) to customers, Sales, and the Supply Chain team.
  • Manage customer-specific and new product specification requests.
  • Answer customer technical questionnaires.

    • Manufacturing Technical Support

  • Provide technical support by working with manufacturing plants in cross-functional teams to assist with process and quality improvements, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution.
  • Ensure that technology and quality standards for new and revised formulas / specifications are successfully transferred into manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical expertise to the Engineering department to ensure new projects and plant modifications align with customer expectations and requirements.

    • Business Development

  • Supporting new business opportunities / assessment for currently marketed products as well as for new products framed in the oleochemical industry.
  • Participate in the process of analysis and evaluation of new investment projects.

    • Job Requirements :

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry.
  • Technical experience within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry, preferably with downstream exposure, familiarity with application development processes that convert basic oleochemical derivatives into finished, market-ready formulations.
  • This position is based in Singapore, with frequent business travel required to Indonesia.
