Roles & Responsibilities

A Biology Teacher develops and delivers biology curriculum through engaging lessons, lab work, and assessments to foster student understanding of living organisms and scientific principles. Key responsibilities include creating lesson plans, conducting experiments, evaluating student progress, communicating with parents, and maintaining a positive learning environment while staying current with scientific advancements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Instruction : Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and course content for biology classes.
  • Assessment & Evaluation : Assess student understanding through classwork, experiments, assignments, and exams, providing feedback to help students improve.
  • Classroom Management : Create and maintain a stimulating, safe, and orderly learning environment.
  • Communication : Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents, sharing feedback on student progress and addressing concerns.
  • Professional Development : Participate in relevant trainings and workshops.

  • Subject Matter Expertise : Deep understanding of biological concepts and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
  • Creativity & Adaptability : Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and create resourceful, stimulating learning experiences.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Organization : Ability to manage records, materials, and equipment, and to plan and organize field trips and extracurricular activities.

  • Degree in subject applied for (or related field)
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring students
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Prior teaching / tutoring experience preferred (training provided for fresh grads)
