A local company specialising in artisanal gifts with a precision engineering environment, is looking for CNC Machinist / Programmer familiar with programming and operating 3-axis and 5-axis machines. Flexi-Work arrangements are available.

Job Description :

CNC Operation & Programming : Operate and program 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-precision parts, ensuring that all components meet strict design and quality specifications. Utilize CAD / CAM software to create and optimize machining programs for complex parts.
Precision & Quality Control : Ensure the precision of every run by closely monitoring the machine's performance and making adjustments as needed. Conduct regular inspections to verify that parts meet required tolerances, and identify any discrepancies or defects during production.
Collaboration with Engineering & Design Teams : Work alongside engineers and designers to review product specifications and assist in converting them into executable CNC programs. Offer feedback on manufacturability and suggest design improvements when necessary.
Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting : Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance. Address any mechanical or technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production flow.
Documentation & Reporting : Maintain detailed records of machine operations, settings, program changes, and production runs. Ensure that all relevant data is documented for quality assurance and traceability purposes.
Safety & Best Practices : Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures. Ensure a clean and safe working environment, regularly checking that equipment is properly calibrated and operational.
Continuous Improvement : Engage in ongoing learning and upskilling in the latest CNC machining techniques, CAD / CAM software, and industry best practices to stay ahead of technological advancements in precision machining.

Job Requirements :

Education : ITE Certificate in Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience : At least 1 year of experience operating CNC machines, including both 3-axis and 5-axis systems. Familiarity with high-precision machining and working in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment is highly preferred.

CNC Programming : Proficient in CAD / CAM programming, with a strong understanding of G-code and M-code. Experience using software like Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar is an advantage.

Attention to Detail : A keen eye for precision and the ability to uphold high standards of quality in all produced parts. Ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries.

Problem-Solving Skills : Strong troubleshooting abilities to quickly resolve machine or program issues and minimize production delays.

Teamwork & Communication : Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members, ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines.
