Responsibilities

• Lead and execute discipline engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from initial concept development and feasibility studies through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover. Ensure deliverables meet technical, operational, and lifecycle performance objectives.
• Create, develop, and critically review scopes of work for projects and related engineering activities, ensuring they are comprehensive, technically accurate, aligned with project objectives, and free of scope gaps or ambiguities.
• Ensure rigorous adherence to QP technical assurance practices and international engineering standards, embedding safety, quality, and operability into all designs. Review, challenge, and approve deviations or variations from established guidelines, codes, and standards, applying sound engineering judgment and risk-based decision-making.
• Conduct in-house site surveys, engineering studies, and design activities, translating operational and field observations into technically robust engineering solutions.
• Review, endorse, and approve contractor-developed method statements for compliance with project objectives, technical requirements, constructability, and safety standards. Serve as a focal point for resolving contractor technical queries and interface issues.
• Produce, review, validate, and approve in-house designs and technical specifications, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate and project requirements.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering deliverables (designs, specifications, and scopes of work), integrating inputs from process, mechanical, electrical, civil / structural, instrumentation, and HSE disciplines into a coherent, optimized package.
• Develop, update, and actively monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, ensuring timely delivery of engineering outputs, identifying critical-path activities, and managing resource requirements to maintain project progress.
• Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of multi-disciplinary teams, providing leadership, direction, and technical guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering services in line with project schedules and objectives.
• Embed environmental and safety requirements into engineering designs and work-scopes, ensuring compliance with corporate HSE policies, regulatory obligations, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Review, evaluate, and approve or reject contract changes and variations, assessing technical validity, compliance with approved standards, cost and schedule impacts, and long-term operability implications.
• Conduct technical evaluation of bid packages, ensuring full compliance with project scope, specifications, and standards. Provide recommendations for contractor selection based on technical merit and lifecycle considerations.
• Support the Assistant Manager and Engineering Department in the review, governance, and continuous improvement of QP engineering standards, including the adaptation of international codes to QP-specific requirements.
• Foster technical excellence and capability development, actively supporting the growth of personal skills and those of co-workers. Participate in structured training, mentoring, and knowledge-transfer programs, with a focus on developing Engineers under development programs.
