Director, AEO & SEO
Scope of the role :
As our Director, AEO & SEO, you are expected to drive technical & subject matter leadership supported by our exceptional AEO & SEO team, driving remarkable results for our clients through the implementation of advanced and future-facing strategies.
This team is obsessed with helping our clients grow their share of voice and achieve their traffic and sales objectives – and you are expected to serve as the market leader which will require you to have strong strategic‑and‑technical knowledge in order to help educate and mentor our teams to continue building our agency strategic advantage as we embrace the Future of Search.
The role requires you to :
- Architect and execute OMG’s full‑funnel SEO strategy, from core web vitals to AI‑first search optimization and everything in between – with the extended management team
- Own and scale our AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) approach, cementing our leading position in helping our client show up where AI‑generated answers are being served across Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others.
- Build and lead a high‑performing SEO team, leading and mentoring our AEO & SEO specialists and manage relationships with client teams
- Possess strong analytical and communication skills to stay updated on industry trends, manage SEO programmes, and report on results to key stakeholders.
- Effectively manage cross‑functional projects that includes research, technical AEO & SEO audits, analysing performance data to create & execute strategies with the team
- Constantly experiment with and adapt to the evolution of search, including zero‑click SERPs, multimodal search, and generative search behaviour.
Required Skills or Attributes :
7+ years of experience in a SEO position, with at least 3 years in a technical SEO manager roleDeep understanding of modern search paradigms including structured data, schema markup, site speed, indexing, and core algorithm changesStrong understanding of technical SEO principles, website infrastructure, and optimization techniquesFamiliarity with LLM behaviour, vector search, and how generative AI systems consume and surface web content.Strong experience using tools like GSC, Screaming Fros, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Looker, LLM visibility tools, and SEO automation frameworks.Ability to explain complex SEO concepts to stakeholders at all levels of knowledge and competency.Strong client facing communication and presentation skills and inter‑agency relations skillsTeam player with the confidence and integrity to earn client and internal team confidence quicklyStrong attention to detail is requiredCan work independently with self‑learning attitudeDemonstrate critical thinking, problem solving abilities and time management skillStrong verbal and written communication skillsMotivated, enthusiastic, high energy, team player and has an approachable manner and initiativesEffective under pressure, high energy, and an approachable mannerAble to manage a teamSeniority level
