The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the manufacturing process to ensure timely delivery of products. This role involves balancing production capacity with customer demand, monitoring material availability, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources. The Production Planner will work closely with production, purchasing, warehouse, and quality departments to achieve production targets and maintain smooth operations.
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders, forecasts, and available resources.
- Schedule production batches according to priorities, capacity, and lead time.
- Adjust production schedules to accommodate changes in demand, equipment breakdowns, or material shortages.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure plans are executed as scheduled.
Material and Resource Coordination
Review material availability before releasing production orders.Coordinate with the purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure timely supply of raw materials and components.Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.Communicate material issues or delays to relevant departments.Production Monitoring and Control
Track the progress of work-in-progress (WIP) and completed goods.Identify bottlenecks or process delays and recommend corrective actions.Ensure that production output meets planned schedules and quality requirements.Prepare and update production performance reports.ERP System and Data Management
Input and update production data into the ERP system - SAPGenerate reports related to production status, inventory levels, and order progress.Support data accuracy by maintaining proper documentation and record-keeping.Communication and Coordination
Liaise with production, quality control, maintenance, and warehouse departments to ensure alignment on production priorities.Communicate any changes in schedule or delivery timelines to relevant stakeholders.Participate in daily or weekly production meetings.Continuous Improvement
Support initiatives to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.Assist in analysing production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Propose ideas for optimizing scheduling, material usage, and workflow.Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.Experience
1–3 years of working experience in production planning or manufacturing operations.Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and production flow.Good understanding of scheduling and capacity planning.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.Basic knowledge of ERP or MRP systems - SAPStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and coordination abilities.Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
