Job Overview
We’re currently looking for a high‑caliber professional to join our team as Director, Credit Risk Second Line of Defense Senior Group Manager (Internal Job Title: Credit Risk 2LOD Sr Group Manager - C15) based in Singapore. In this role, you will lead proactive credit risk management and portfolio monitoring of Citi’s Financial Institutions client segments across the Asia South cluster.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership as senior credit risk portfolio manager and approver for Financial Institutions segments (excluding hedge funds) within the Asia South Cluster.
- Proactively manage credit exposures, dictating Citi’s risk appetite across all credit‑sensitive products.
- Complete comprehensive credit analysis and actively monitor portfolios, focusing on proactive problem recognition, stress testing and overall portfolio management.
- Build a comprehensive understanding of local markets, key clients and competitors across Asia South.
- Maintain interaction with country heads, market and treasury directors, institutional credit management and other global functions.
- Manage and resolve escalation issues, communicating effectively with business regularly.
- Serve as the primary interface with local regulators, ensuring compliance and representation on relevant Country Risk Management Committees.
- Liaise with Internal Audit and Global Controls for audits and coordination.
- Manage and mentor a team of credit risk professionals across the region.
- Ensure quality of credit decisions, identify improvement areas and establish training plans.
- Manage regulatory and management reporting demands, ensuring timely input from stakeholders and monitoring data quality.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and supervise activity of others to maintain standards.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of credit risk management experience with a diverse portfolio of financial institutions.
- Current Senior Credit Officer (SCO) approval authority (SCO Level 2 preferred).
- Strong technical expertise in financial institutions’ products, credit documentation, complex structures and associated risks.
- Demonstrated thought leadership and innovation in credit risk assessment and mitigation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex information.
- Ability to lead change, build partnerships, and influence across functions and regions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
- High ethical standards and thorough understanding of regulatory expectations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Professional/Master’s degree (MBA, CPA, CFA) preferred; formal credit training a plus.
