Role Summary :
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to support the reliability, scalability, and modernization of mission-critical on-premises infrastructure. In this role, you will manage compute, storage, virtualization, and monitoring systems across various environments while driving the adoption of automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern operational best practices. You will also play a key role in ensuring infrastructure stability, supporting digital transformation efforts, and maintaining compliance with security and enterprise architecture standards.
Responsibilities :
Administer and support critical infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, virtualization, and backup systems across dev, test, and production environments.Implement and enforce platform standards and best practices, focusing on automation, security, and operational efficiency.Manage virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) for optimal performance, capacity planning, and lifecycle operations.Support infrastructure upgrades and new solution deployments in alignment with enterprise architecture principles.Deploy and manage monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.Execute automated patching and maintenance strategies to ensure uptime, stability, and security compliance.Provide Level 2 / 3 technical support for infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.Support containerisation initiatives and maintain orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) for applicable workloads.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Manage disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability configurations for essential infrastructure components.Enforce security controls, including access policies, system hardening, and continuous compliance monitoring.Work closely with application and development teams to align platform capabilities with performance and scaling needs.Create and maintain detailed operational documentation, SOPs, and support materials.Mentor team members on infrastructure best practices and platform technologies.Requirements : Technical Skills :
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms : VMware vSphere, Hyper-VSolid understanding of SAN and NAS storage systems, and enterprise backup / recovery solutionsSkilled in both Linux and Windows Server administrationProficiency with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)Familiarity with container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and toolsGood grasp of networking concepts (TCP / IP, firewalls, DNS, etc.)Scripting skills in one or more languages : Python, PowerShell, BashExperience with designing and implementing HA and DR solutionsQualifications & Other Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related disciplineSolid background in infrastructure engineering and operational supportDemonstrated experience in modernization of traditional infrastructureAnalytical problem solver with strong troubleshooting skillsStrong documentation and technical writing skillsEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teamsVMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified : Windows Server, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), ITIL v4 FoundationTell employers what skills you have
