Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

Apply expert-level knowledge of cloud-native services (compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, serverless and security)

Own and evolve operational frameworks including incident response, monitoring, patching, backup, disaster recovery and compliance

Lead major incident management and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical cloud events

Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the organisation application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud

Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.

Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends and technology.

Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory frameworks (MAS TRM)

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5+ years in AWS or similar cloud operations (Azure, GCP), preferably within the payment or financial services industry

Possess practical expertise in AWS service such as experience in designing and developing platform components or monitoring tools in AWS or any of the cloud computing platforms

Skills and Knowledge

Strong knowledge on AWS architecture and design, professional level certification is mandatory

Cloud Expert with proven contributions in Amazon AWS

Proven experience leading incident management, DR, backup / recovery and performance operations at scale

Ability to carry out industry trends and competitor product / solution analysis effectively

Good expertise in programming- able to develop and demonstrate technologies in PoC

Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends

Experience in configuring and tuning cloud-hosted solutions and platforms

Good knowledge of DevSecOps tool chains and processes

Strong communication skills and able to articulate complicated cloud reports to management team and other stakeholders

Hands-on proficiency in IaC and automation tools
