Roles & Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Film & Program / Session Management
- Manage digital content ingest, playlist creation, and scheduling using digital cinema servers and software (e.g. DCP, TMS / LMS).
- Ensure all scheduled content (films, trailers, advertisements) is correctly programmed and queued for playback.
- Coordinate content availability and monitor timely delivery and dispatch of digital film packages (KDMs, DCPs).
- Oversee the accuracy of show timing and ensure alignment with programmed schedules.
Projection Equipment Operations
Operate and monitor digital projection systems, cinema servers, and associated AV equipment.Perform regular equipment checks to ensure optimal performance.Conduct basic preventative maintenance and coordinate advanced servicing with external technicians as needed.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to projection, sound, and automation systems.Log and report any faults or system errors promptly to ensure minimal disruption.Live, VR and AVL Event Support
Set up and operate AV systems for live screenings, VR presentations, and special events, including satellite or hybrid formats.Manage signal routing, live feeds, and real-time audio / video switching for live events.Support the setup and operation of VR systems, headsets, sensors, and displays.Collaborate with lighting and audio teams to configure AVL systems for event ambiance and show cues.Conduct technical rehearsals and pre-event checks to ensure performance quality and system reliability.Liaise with internal teams and third-party clients to meet all technical event requirements.Technical Maintenance & Safety Duties
Assist with general upkeep and technical maintenance of the cinema and projection booths.Perform regular sound and picture calibration to ensure presentation quality (cinema equalization).Ensure the safe and secure use of all cinema projection and AV equipment.Remain familiar with and prepared to act on breakdown and emergency procedures.Keep documentation of maintenance routines, inventory (if any), and safety checks.Team / Staff Management
Supervise and maintain discipline among the technical / projection team.Address and escalate staff misconduct when necessary.Plan and manage duty rosters for projectionists and technical operators to ensure sufficient coverage.Deliver ongoing technical training and guidance to team member / s.Leadership & Coordination
Take on responsibilities of Technical & Maintenance Manager when applicable.Coordinate closely with cinema operations and event management teams to ensure seamless execution of screenings and live events.Act as liaison between technical staff and senior management on equipment, staffing, and operational issues.E. Requirements :
Diploma or degree in Film Technology, Electronics, AV Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cinema projection operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong technical knowledge of projection systems and equipment.Experience in operating and maintaining cinema projection equipment.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.Familiarity with digital and film projection formats.Leadership and staff supervision skills.Ability to manage schedules, rosters, and maintenance plans.Strong organizational and communication skills.Understanding of workplace discipline and emergency protocolsSoft Skills & Attributes :
