Roles & Responsibilities

Network Engineer

Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure. Candidates should possess strong hands-on expertise in the following core technologies (with familiarity in market alternatives) :

(a) Load Balancers (Core)

F5 BIG-IP : advanced configuration and management
Alternatives : Citrix ADC (NetScaler), NGINX Plus, HAProxy
Application delivery, SSL offloading, and traffic management

(b) Network Routing & Switching (Core)

Cisco IOS and Nexus series configuration and troubleshooting

Alternatives : Juniper Networks, Arista Networks, HPE (Aruba)

Proficiency in OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and VLANs

(c) Next-Generation Firewalls (Core)

Check Point and Palo Alto Networks : configuration, policy management, threat prevention

Alternatives : Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Firepower

Skilled in on-premise and cloud firewall deployments

Proficient in dynamic routing protocols

Experience with zero-trust network architectures

(d) Cloud Network Security (Core)

Azure Firewall : design and implementation

Alternatives : AWS Network Firewall, Google Cloud Armor

Expertise in cloud-native network security best practices

(e) Application Gateways (Core)

Azure Application Gateway : configuration and management

Alternatives : AWS Application Load Balancer, Google Cloud Load Balancing

Web Application Firewall (WAF) implementation

(f) Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems (IDPS)

Implementation and management of IDPS solutions

Experience with Check Point, Palo Alto Networks

Alternatives : Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, Suricata

Skilled in rule / policy configuration, tuning, and maintenance

Proficient in log analysis and incident response

(g) Software-Defined Networking (SDN) – Good to Have

Familiarity with SDN concepts and implementations

Experience with Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, or Juniper Contrail

(h) Network Monitoring & Analytics – Good to Have

Proficiency with tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios

Network performance analysis and optimisation

(i) VPN & Remote Access Solutions – Good to Have

Configuring and managing site-to-site and remote access VPNs

Products : Cisco AnyConnect, Palo Alto GlobalProtect

(j) Network Automation – Good to Have

Scripting for automation (Python, Ansible)

Experience with orchestration tools

(k) Network Security Protocols (Core)

Strong understanding of IPSec, SSL / TLS, 802.1x

Implementation of Network Access Control (NAC) solutions

(l) Certifications (Mandatory)

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Cisco (other relevant certifications)

(m) Collaboration
