Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Structure Inspector
Employer: Kong Jun Engineering Pte. Ltd.
Location: Pioneer Yard, Tuas Yard, Benoi Yard, Tuas Boulevard Yard
Working Hours: Mon to Thurs 0800-1715, Fri 0800-1630, Sat 0800-1130, Sun 0800-1715
Salary Range: SGD 3,000 – 5,000/month
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract / Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Performing Visual Inspection / Monitoring of the welding and material for structure.
• Daily monitoring to ensure that welding is done according to the approved WPS.
• Welding inspector (s) shall be responsible for performing the visual inspection according to acceptance criteria and preparing the inspection reports.
• Inspection documents & Traceability review and submit to Client.
• To report only to project QA lead/manager

Job Requirements

• Inspector shall be certified/ Registered by an independent third-party association, such as American Welding Society (AWS) / TWI-CSWIP 3.1 as a certified welding Inspector (CWI) or other recognized certification societies and a minimum level of 3.1
• Physically fit and able to work onboard vessels or in confined spaces.
• Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Tools:

Must be able to operate and maintain inspection tools such as:

• Welding gauge (i.e., Undercut, fillet Leg, Fillet throat, Reinforcement height and re-entrant Angle)
• Taper ruler
• Portable Handheld flashlight
• Inspection Mirror
• Pocket tape/ Measuring tape
• Pocket Steel Ruler
• PPE: Must provide and maintain own basic PPE (e.g., helmet, gloves, safety shoes, eye protection).
