Field Service Engineer

Role Overview: The Field Service Engineer will play a key role in providing technical support, maintenance, and optimization for high-performance pharmaceutical packaging machinery. This position involves both on-site and remote service activities, ensuring equipment reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across the region. Key Responsibilities: Perform on-site service activities, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, machine overhauls, and performance optimization . Support assembly, testing, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of new machines at global manufacturing sites. Oversee installation, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at customer facilities, including user training and technical documentation updates. Provide remote and on-site technical support to assist customers in resolving operational and performance issues. Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve complex technical challenges and identify root causes. Recommend and implement technical upgrades, modifications, and modernization solutions to enhance equipment performance and efficiency. Prepare necessary tools, spare parts, and documentation before site visits to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. Maintain detailed service reports outlining activities performed, outstanding issues, and proposed actions. Follow up on unresolved matters to ensure full customer satisfaction and completion of service commitments. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service department. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. 4–6 years of experience in field service or maintenance within the pharmaceutical or packaging machinery industry. Solid hands-on experience with PLC and HMI systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Elau, or Rexroth). Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and communication skills. Proficient in English (spoken and written); Chinese language skills are an advantage. Excellent customer service mindset and ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Willingness to travel up to 50% across Southeast Asia and internationally as required.
