We are looking for an Assistant Marine Superintendent to support fleet operations, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assist in the planning and execution of vessel maintenance and inspections. This role is ideal for candidates with a maritime background who are proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their career in vessel management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vessels for SIRE / BIRE inspections and ensure compliance with industry requirements.
- Implement and oversee HSE standards across the fleet.
- Monitor vessel operating costs and ensure adherence to budget.
- Assist in planning and executing dry-dock, special surveys, and deck maintenance as per IMS requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for vessel class, flag, and trading certifications (including Q88).
- Ensure vessel operations comply with IMS, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee deck inventory and spare parts to minimize downtime.
- Publish monthly safety memos and monitor crew safety card submissions.
- Conduct crew safety training and support client / statutory inspections.
- Review and process purchase requests (PRs) with proper coding.
Requirements
Diploma in Maritime Studies or equivalent.2-3 years’ experience in vessel management.Preferably with sailing experience and a Certificate of Competency (Class 3 or below).Tanker sailing experience is an advantage.EA License No : 19C9611
