Job Description

Shin Min Local News, a Chinese-language afternoon newspaper published by SPH Media, invites individuals who are keen to pursue a career in journalism to join its team as a news journalist.

About the role

As a journalist, you are expected to gather facts and information through research and interviews, and present the information in a clear, concise and interesting way in the article you write. Depending on your experience, you will be assigned to local news, entertainment news or sports news desk.

Requirements

• Degree preferably in Journalism or Chinese language
• Experience in news reporting
• Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English and with good written and spoken skills
• Possess an inquisitive mind with a nose for news
• Has strong interest in news and current affairs
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to irregular working hours
• Must be driven, independent, reliable and highly adaptable to changes
