Barker Road Methodist Church Little Lights Preschool - Barker (BRMCLL - Barker) was formerly known as Barker Road Methodist Church Kindergarten (BRMCK). It was established in 1967 and is an outreach arm of Barker Road Methodist Church (BRMC). Our Kindergarten at Barker Road is the only first faith-based preschool in Singapore with the IB-PYP accreditation.
Our strength lies in low teacher-child ratio and providing quality care and education through promoting bilinguism and teaching the children to be self-disciplined, caring, risk-taking, knowledgeable, open-mined, reflective, well-balanced and God-fearing individuals.
We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join our Kindergarten to support the learning and development of the children at BRMCLL-Barker.
Job Description :
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating respect, tolerance, and appreciation for each child's social, cultural, and religious background.
- Provide both pastoral care and high-quality teaching in alignment with the school's established policies and guidelines.
- Employ a range of developmentally appropriate teaching strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes for all children.
- Prepare and submit timely planning and documentation to the Principal, clearly identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated activities, extension opportunities, and assessment methods for the children in your care.
- Engage in professional discussions with colleagues regarding student progress, always maintaining confidentiality.
- Take responsibility for the proper use and maintenance of teaching materials and equipment, ensuring a well-organized and purposeful learning environment.
- Collaborate with the PYP Coordinator and team to develop and implement effective assessment systems and maintain accurate e-portfolios and achievement records for each child. Provide progress reports as required.
- Collaborate with same level educators to plan and implement interesting learning environment and activities for children
- Actively participate in ongoing professional development and performance evaluations as part of your career growth.
- Foster strong partnerships with parents by supporting learning and creative development activities at home.
- Maintain open, respectful, and consistent communication with parents to support each child’s development.
- Provide guidance and motivation to program helpers to ensure effective support in classroom activities.
Job Requirements :
At least 2 years relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood;The candidate should hold a minimum of a Diploma in Early Childhood or Education or equivalent, which is obtained from a recognised institution.Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry-based learning is required;Applicants must provide original copies of their Certificates and academic transcripts for authentication;Certified by ECDA at L2 LevelDiploma in Montessori Teaching will be an added advantageMust be proficient in Microsoft Office – WordAble to work independently and also a team playerGood command of English or Mandarin – verbal and writtenAttend courses, if requiredTell employers what skills you have
