Focused on Southeast Asia, CCEH is not just about research—it’s about creating a healthier, more resilient future for Singapore and the world. We collaborate with NTU’s premier institutes to transform insights into actionable, evidence-based solutions.

Within CCEH, the Environmental Health team, led by Prof. Steve Yim, investigates the complex interactions between climate, air quality, and environmental health. The group develops, advances, and applies state-of-the-art multi-scale atmospheric models, along with cutting-edge measurement and statistical approaches, to unravel the mechanisms driving climate–air quality interactions and to assess their impacts on human health and ecosystems.

Key research areas include examining the air quality impacts of sectoral emissions and transboundary air pollution across multiple spatial scales, exploring regional climate change driven by land-use transitions and global climate change, and quantifying the health effects of air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. The group also evaluates emission control and mitigation scenarios to provide science-based policy recommendations for a sustainable environment and healthier populations in the present and future.

Key Responsibilities :

The position will be required to establish multi-city land-use regression modeling for climate / weather / air pollution predictions, develop the maps of population exposures to extreme climate / weather / air pollution and health risks in Southeast Asia, and identify key risks of climate change to cardio-respiratory / mental health based on the epidemiological model. The position has to document the results of the aforementioned tasks in reports and publish papers in peer-review international journals.

Job Requirements :

• Have a Master's degree in atmospheric science / geography / meteorology / environmental health, or equivalent field.
• Have experience in the development of land-use regression and epidemiological models, as well the big data analysis.
• Evidence of excellent written and communication skills and evidence of independence in research direction and team spirit.
• Candidates with recent publications in relevant areas within the past 5 years are advantageous.
