Roles & Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities of a Senior High Voltage and Low Voltage Tester (Engineer) include the following :
- Perform all aspects of electrical testing and commissioning on high-voltage equipment, including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and cables.
- Develop test plans and schedules for electrical testing and commissioning of high-voltage equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and perform repairs on high-voltage equipment as needed.
- Ensure all electrical testing and commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC and NEC regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior state and subcontractors regarding electrical testing and commissioning of high- voltage equipment.
- Conduct analysis of test results, prepare reports and provide recommendations to improve the efficiency and reliability of high- voltage equipment.
- Interface with project management teams and customers to provide guidance and support during the project's lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other departments such as design engineering, project management and construction to ensure proper high voltage testing is performed.
- Prepare project status reports, including timelines, budget and achievements.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in high-voltage electrical testing and commissioning technology.
