Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Project Engineer ensures that all ACMV projects are completed successfully, meeting client requirements, safety standards and within the allocated budget and timeline. The project engineer is instrumental in coordinating all aspects of the project from planning to execution, to deliver a reliable and functional ACMV systems.
Responsibilities
1) Project Planning – The project engineer is involved in the planning phase of the projects, collaborating with other stakeholders to determine project scope, objectives, timelines and budget constraints. He / she work to understand the specific requirements of the project and create a comprehensive project plan.
2) Design and Engineering – The project engineer is entrusted with the primary responsibility for both design and engineering aspects. In cases where there is a designated design vendor(s), the project engineer collaborates closely with them to ensure that the designs are well-engineered and meet the required technical specifications. However, in the absence of a designated design vendor, the project engineer takes on the direct responsibility for both the design and engineering aspects, ensuring a comprehensive approach to meet project requirements. This includes a thorough understanding of ACMV and other related drawings, circuit diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, and other pertinent technical documentation.
3) Procurement – The project engineer may be required to be involved in the procurement of necessary equipment, materials and components that are required for the project. He / she will have to ensure that the materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time to the work site.
4) Safety and Compliance – Safety is of utmost importance for Donjon Pte Ltd. The project engineer ensures that all work is carried out following safety regulations and industry best practices. They also ensure that the work complies with relevant codes and standards.
5) Resource Management – The project engineer is responsible for coordinating resources, including general labour, equipment and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution. He / she will be required to handle scheduling and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.
6) Quality Control – Throughout the project, the project engineer monitors the quality of work being done, conducts inspections and ensures that the work meet the required quality standards.
7) Problem Solving – In the course of the project(s), unexpected challenges and issues may arise. The project engineer plays a crucial role in identifying and resolving these problems to keep the project on track.
8) Communication – The project engineer serves as a point of contact between various stakeholders, including clients, project managers / director, contractors and the engineering team. They provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns and facilitate effective communication.
9) Documentation – Keeping detailed records and documentation of the project’s progress is essential. The project engineer maintains accurate documentation including reports, drawings, change orders and other relevant paperwork. He / she will also have to ensure that project charges are correctly represented for accounting’s closing process.
