A professional who is responsible for securing and building up non-Japanese crew, based on the company’s crewing requirement plan.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Crew Management
- Attend to all crew-related matters in general.
- Ensure timely crew deployment and rotation in accordance with the company’s operational requirements.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control
Prepare and manage the crewing OPEX budget.Monitor crewing expenses and ensure cost-effective solutions.3. Manning Company Supervision
Supervise and coordinate with manning agencies to ensure compliance with company standards.Maintain strong working relationships with manning agents.4. Training & Development
Liaise with KLMA to organize seafarer trainings.Provide training and guidance to crewing group members.Support the development and competency of the crew.5. Performance & Incident Management
Handle PI (Personal Injury) matters related to crewing.Monitor crew performance and address any disciplinary or welfare issues.6. Customer Support
Assist the General Manager in responding to customer requirements related to crew deployment and management.Requirements
At least 2 year or more of Shore Experience required.Minimum 10 years’ experience in the industry.At least 6 months onboard experience as a Master or a Chief Officer with Class 1 Certificate of Competency.Good understanding of Ship Management with Maritime knowledge.Understanding and communicating in Japanese language or as a 2nd language is preferred to liase with Japanese counterparts.Tell employers what skills you have
