Position Overview
The Stage Manager is responsible for coordinating all technical and logistical aspects of live performances and events at JY Live Music. This includes stage setup, sound and lighting coordination, managing stage crew, and ensuring smooth transitions between performances. The role is critical in delivering high-quality shows and ensuring artists and performers have a professional and seamless experience.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Performance Coordination
- Liaise with bands, DJs, performers, and promoters to understand technical and staging requirements.
- Plan stage layouts, backline setups, and changeover schedules.
- Coordinate with sound, lighting, and visual teams to ensure technical readiness.
- Oversee stage rehearsals and soundchecks.
Stage Operations
Supervise and direct stage crew during load-in, setup, show, and load-out.Ensure timely and efficient changeovers between acts.Monitor backstage and stage areas for safety, cleanliness, and readiness.Troubleshoot technical or logistical issues during performances.Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with fire safety, workplace safety, and equipment handling regulations.Manage crowd control measures relating to the stage and backstage areas.Implement emergency protocols if required.Team Management
Recruit, train, and supervise stage crew and technical assistants.Delegate responsibilities clearly and ensure smooth coordination.Maintain discipline, professionalism, and teamwork in high-pressure environments.Artist & Client Relations
Serve as the main point of contact for performers on show days.Ensure artist comfort and satisfaction with stage setup and backstage environment.Coordinate with hospitality teams for artist requirements.Administration & Reporting
Maintain stage equipment inventory and ensure proper storage.Track and report on equipment usage, damages, or repairs needed.Support budgeting for stage equipment upgrades and crew costs.KPIs / Performance Metrics
Punctual and smooth execution of stage setups and changeovers.Positive feedback from performers and technical teams.Compliance with safety and operational standards.Low incident and equipment downtime rate.Effective management of stage crew and backstage operations.Requirements
3–5 years of experience in stage management, live event production, or technical crew leadership.Strong understanding of live music production (sound, lighting, and backline).Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Strong communication skills for coordinating with artists, crew, and management.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced live environment.Technical knowledge of stage equipment and safety procedures.Tell employers what skills you have
