The Opportunity
Our client is a specialized trading company focusing on raw materials and commodities crucial to international supply chains. They excel in the merchandising and logistics of a diverse portfolio, including ferrous and non-ferrous, stainless steel, minerals and energy-related products. Leveraging the immerse strength and network in almost 100 countries, the company provides reliable, end-to-end solutions for producers and consumers worldwide. Based in Singapore, it plays a key role in connecting resources from emerging markets to industrial centers across the globe. They are They are currently seeking a Bauxite Trader in Singapore.
Responsibilities :
- Physical Bauxite Trading : Manage the physical positions in bauxite, optimizing performance and maximize profitability while adhering to risk limits.
- Develop Commercial Strategy and Relationships : Design and implement commercial strategies for spot and long-term contracts. Lead negotiations with external stakeholders to secure favourable terms.
- Oversee Risk and Operational Execution : Ensure all trading activities comply with internal and external regulations. Collaborate with risk, legal, and operations teams to manage market, credit, and operational risks, resolving issues from shipping, documentation to payment discrepancies.
- Drive Market Engagement and Intelligence : Actively represent the company in the market to maintain a strong presence. Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform trading strategies and provide regular reporting on trading performance, strategic insights and market conditions.
- Provide Team Leadership and Development : Supervise bauxite trading team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing global team environment. Responsible for training team members in marketing, trading, analysis, and related processes to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution.

Requirements :
Min 8 years of experience in physical trading of bauxite or similar bulk commodities, with essential experience in commercial marketing / tradingDemonstrated experience in business development and execution of business strategies.Working knowledge of freight and handling B / Ls, L / Cs and B / Cs, etcStrong grasp of risk management, accounting principles and tax / compliance matters relevant to trading, complemented by proven skills in negotiation, people management, and balanced commercial decision-makingGood knowledge of insurance, AEO, import duties, compliance and indirect taxes (VAT, GST, etc.)Business proficiency in written and verbal EnglishIf you are excited about this opportunity, apply NOW!
