Role Summary

• Responsibilities : You will be based in our Medical Communications team as a Medical Writer , specialising in the strategic planning and development of scientific publications . Your work will involve the detailed analysis and clear, creative communication of clinical trial data through abstracts, posters, oral presentations and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and conferences. You will support a range of clients, including the industry’s most successful pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, patient and public health bodies and charitable organisations
• Salary : S$4,500 per month

About the Role

The Medical Writer and Analyst positions are ideal for those with experience in scientific research and for enthusiastic recent graduates in the sciences who are seeking the opportunity to be part of a growing team. You will be based in our Singapore office working in our Asia-Pacific team, as well as collaborating with colleagues from our UK and US teams.

Medical Writers and Analysts work on projects involving the detailed analysis of data from clinical trials and the assimilation and creative presentation of this analysis in different formats including posters, slide sets, value dossiers, reports and peer-reviewed publications. These deliverables are used directly by our clients in communication with external stakeholders instrumental to the successful uptake of novel therapies. The work is structured on a project-by-project basis and you will usually be working on several projects in different disease areas at any one time.

You will work in project teams alongside experienced colleagues in both the Singapore UK and US offices who provide one-to-one training in the technical aspects of the role, including project management and effective client communication. Delivering project work requires close collaboration with clients and, following a successful induction period, you will increasingly engage in teleconferences and face-to-face meetings with external stakeholders.

Positions are available for those looking for an entry-level role as well as those with some prior experience. We are looking for ambitious individuals with the potential to progress rapidly into more senior roles involving greater project management and client responsibility.

Costello Medical is structured into teams focusing on distinct services within the healthcare industry. Our Singapore office is structured around three teams who focus on Medical Communications, Evidence Development, and Market Access. Please note that this vacancy is specifically within our Medical Communications team, with the possibility of contributing to cross-divisional projects.

It is possible to work within our medical communications service offering as an Analyst or Medical Writer, with both roles sharing the same level of responsibility. Medical Writers specialise in the strategic planning and development of publications, which include abstracts, posters, oral presentations and manuscripts targeted at scientific journals and conferences. Analysts work across a variety of medical affairs projects and specialise in services such as advisory boards, and the development and multi-channel communication of educational scientific content for a wide range of audiences. The most relevant job title will be discussed with you during the application process.

Analysts working across our Market Access services support a diverse range of value and access, HTA and health economics projects. These include developing product value messages and materials (e.g. brochures, slidesets, white papers, etc.), building health economic tools and models, and developing dossiers for submission to HTA agencies. A role in the Market Access team suits those who are passionate about patient access to healthcare, are fast-learners and have a strategic, problem-solving mindset. Exceptional writing skills are also essential, especially the ability to summarise complex data in a clear and creative way with high levels of attention to detail.

Our literature review and synthesis projects involve the identification of clinical, economic and real-world evidence to support the value of a pharmaceutical product or medical device. Our work includes rigorous systematic literature reviews that our Statisticians often use to conduct meta-analyses and network meta-analyses, therefore Analysts in this team work together with our Statisticians to provide seamless scientific and technical support to our clients. We also work on more creative and pragmatic evidence reviews to inform clients’ strategic decisions with regard to clinical development or market access. You will gain a thorough understanding of how to conduct various kinds of evidence review from searching to interpretation of statistical results and ensuring that the reviews conform to industry guidelines where applicable. You will also be involved in writing up the methods and results of the reviews and statistical analyses into engaging reports, slide sets and often congress / journal publications.

Our real-world evidence projects include the design, execution and subsequent reporting of prospective, retrospective or cross-sectional real-world studies. We develop protocols and statistical analysis plans (in collaboration with our Statisticians, Epidemiologists, clients and external experts), acquire and analyse data, and communicate the methodologies and results in both written and oral formats.

Analysts in our Evidence Development team are passionate about finding, synthesising and generating evidence, they have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, and a talent for communication.

We are looking for individuals who are collaborative, self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a passion for scientific writing and an interest in providing a great service to clients. Positions are available for those looking for an entry-level role in the field as well as those with some prior experience.

Essential requirements for the role are :

No previous experience in this sector is necessary, but you should display a genuine interest in healthcare and an eagerness to learn about new areas of clinical science. Applicants with higher-level qualifications in a scientific discipline are welcomed but this is not a requirement.

The Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process includes a written assessment for you to complete in your own time. If successful, you will be invited to an interview which will include a short presentation you can prepare for in advance. Our standard recruitment process lasts around 1 month however, this is adapted if necessary.

We are currently recruiting for start dates for 2026. Additional start dates may also be available and you will be asked to state your availability on your application form.
