(A) Job Summary
The Design Engineer (Tender) supports the tender team by preparing design inputs, technical proposals, and engineering solutions for civil and infrastructure projects. The role involves reviewing tender documents, developing design concepts, and ensuring technical compliance to secure competitive bids.
(B) Essential Job Functions :
The Design Engineer (Tender) is responsible, but not limited to, the following :
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Prepare preliminary designs, technical proposals, and calculations to support tender submissions.
- Develop design alternatives and value engineering options to optimize cost and constructability.
- Coordinate with tender managers, quantity surveyors, and planners to align design with pricing and scheduling.
- Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors for design and technical clarifications.
- Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and authority (e.g., LTA, BCA, PUB) requirements.
- Prepare method statements, technical reports, and submission documents.
- Provide technical support during tender clarifications and presentations.
(C) Minimum Qualifications / Job Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent.3–5 years’ experience in design or tender support, preferably in civil / infrastructure projects.Proficiency in AutoCAD and civil / structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, Civil 3D).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and tight tender deadlines.Tell employers what skills you have
