Roles & Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
The Drafter (Architectural & Façade Works) is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed drawings and technical documentation to support design, fabrication, and construction activities. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams, the Drafter ensures that all drawings reflect project requirements, comply with standards, and are optimized for buildability and fabrication.
This position plays a vital role in transforming design intent into precise technical deliverables that uphold Anderco’s reputation for quality, precision, and reliability in architectural and façade execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Drawing Preparation & Detailing
- Develop detailed architectural and façade shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation layouts using AutoCAD and / or Tekla.
- Prepare accurate cutting lists, material schedules, and assembly details for fabrication and site execution.
- Translate design concepts, sketches, and engineering inputs into clear and buildable technical drawings.
- Maintain drawing accuracy and consistency across all revisions and project stages.
2. Design Coordination
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure drawings align with project specifications and buildability requirements.Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain and incorporate design information and approvals.Assist in the preparation and submission of shop drawings, method statements, and mock-up documentation for consultant and client review.Review and update drawings to reflect approved design changes and variation orders.3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, codes of practice, and internal quality standards.Perform self-checks to maintain accuracy and completeness of drawings before submission.Support the QA / QC process by updating as-built drawings and ensuring proper document control.Work with the Safety team to incorporate safety-related elements and installation methods into design documentation.4. Technical & Site Support
Provide technical support to site teams during installation and fabrication stages.Attend coordination and progress meetings when required to clarify drawing-related issues.Conduct site measurements and verification to ensure drawings reflect actual conditions.KEY COMPETENCIES
Strong technical drawing and detailing skills using AutoCAD and / or BIM software.Solid understanding of façade systems, architectural finishes, and construction methods.High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in documentation.Strong coordination and communication skills across departments and disciplines.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple drawing packages under tight deadlines.Commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement.REQUIREMENTS
Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building & Construction, or a related field.Minimum 3–5 years of drafting experience in architectural or façade projects.Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with other BIM / drafting software is an advantage.Familiar with architectural and structural detailing, fabrication drawings, and construction documentation.Knowledge of BCA and local authority standards preferred.Able to work independently with minimal supervision and part of a collaborative project team.Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and adapt to new tools or systems.Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.WORKING CONDITIONS
The standard working week is five (5) days; however, you may be required to work on Saturdays and Sundays depending on project requirements.Office-based with periodic site visits for measurement verification and coordination.Tell employers what skills you have
