Job Description
A marine repair engineer installs, maintains, and repairs the mechanical and electrical systems of marine vessels, including ships, boats, and offshore platforms. Their responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from troubleshooting and diagnosing problems to conducting routine maintenance and overseeing major repairs. They ensure the safe and efficient operation of all onboard systems, including propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and other critical machinery.
- Assist in the design and implementation of marine engineering projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs on marine systems, including propulsion, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Support troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment malfunctions and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Document maintenance activities and assist in preparing reports on system performance and engineering projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve existing systems and implement innovative solutions.
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of marine systems, providing technical support during the installation and operational phases.
- Proven track record of leading engineering projects from conception through to completion in compliance with maritime standards.
Requirements
Master's degree in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.Experience in the design and operation of specialized marine vessels, such as offshore support vessels or research vessels.Familiarity with CAD software and marine simulation tools.Experience with sustainable marine technologies and practicesFamiliarity with project management methodologies and toolsTechnical Skills and Relevant Technologies
Proficient in marine design software and simulation tools.Familiar in Carry out installation, start-up, servicing, overhauls, and troubleshooting of M / E Remote Control System equipment.Reply / clear customer enquiry e-mails for technical doubts.Troubleshoot Pneumatic Control system parts and encountered in the field of environments.Familiar in Inspection and Maintenance of M / E Remote Control System for Nabtesco, Man B&W, Kongsberg, Lyngso Marine, SAM Electronics, UEC, Sulzer, Rt-Flex.Able to read and understand BMS wiring diagramsProficient in Attendance for Simulation, Engine Trail and Sea Trial.
