How you succeed

  • You will develop strong knowledge of data management areas such as Data Catalogue, Data Lineage, Data Quality and Taxonomies / Glossary / Dictionary.

What you do The role is expected to work with a dynamic team to design and implement the Data Management assets that enable the bank to leverage data as an enterprise asset to support its strategic decision-making and actions. The function includes the following :

  • Maintain and manage on-going enhancements in our data assets , Data Lineage, Data Catalogue and Data Quality assessment.
  • Gather business and functional requirements, and engage with relevant stakeholders including IT and business users to implement robust, scalable solutions for new data management initiatives,
  • Involve in development of solutions through SQL and Python, for statistical analysis or machine learning to enhance effectiveness of and efficiency in maintaining data assets (, data quality assessment, taxonomy).

    Department Description : The Group Data Management Office (GDMO) plans and executes key data initiatives to build long-term dataernance and management capabilities that enable OCBC Group to meet its regulatory obligations and digitalization objectives.

    As part of its remit, GDMO manages areas related to Data Catalogue, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Data Dictionary / Business Glossary / Taxonomies and serves as the primaryernance function in the Group.

    Who you are

  • Have 2+ years' hands-on experience in writingplex, optimized SQL queries across large data sets and scripting languages like Python,
  • Have some experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.) and data visualisation tools such as QlikView or Power BI,
  • Have the ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritise / manage multiple tasks, with good problem-solving skills,
  • Be a team player, and be willing to work with multiple stakeholders on win-win solutions to meet sound dataernance and management principles,
  • Have worked in the financial services industry,
  • Be articulate and effective inmunicating both written and spoken,
  • Be a self-starter, intellectually curious, and imaginative in solving problems, and
  • Have knowledge of data management & lineage tools such as AB Initio, Collibra, informatica (Good to have)
