Legal Counsel (Chinese Markets)

We are looking for a proactive

and commercially minded In-house Legal Counsel to support a

fast-paced, growth-oriented business environment. This role will

involve handling a broad spectrum of legal matters, from contract

negotiation to cross-border compliance, while working closely with

internal teams to align legal risk management with strategic

business

goals.

Position

Scope

Internal Advisor : Provide

timely and pragmatic legal support across all

departments.

Business

Partner : Safeguard the company's legal position

while enabling growth across contracts, intellectual property,

labour law, and corporate governance.

Strategic Contributor : Align

legal considerations with business objectives to support

decision-making and

expansion.

Key

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, including vendor

contracts, partnership frameworks, NDAs, employment agreements, and

other commercial documentation.

Review and

interpret contracts in both English and Chinese, delivering

accurate legal analysis and actionable advice to

stakeholders.

Provide legal and regulatory

support on regional and cross-border transactions, including

corporate structuring, financing, and collaborations.

Support corporate initiatives such as fundraising, joint

ventures, and M&A.

Manage and coordinate

engagement with external counsel on dispute resolution and

multi-jurisdictional legal

strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent;

admission to practice in Singapore or another common law

jurisdiction preferred.

At least 5 years

PQE

Strong

understanding of regional business operations and regulatory

frameworks.

Fluency in both English and Chinese is

required, with strong proficiency in verbal and written

communication in Chinese, as a significant portion of

correspondence with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and ability to

draft and interpret legal documents in both

languages.

Excellent communication skills, with the

ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear business

guidance.
