Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees by implementing and maintaining effective safety management systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, risk assessments, training, and emergency preparedness, while fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyze workplace safety and health (WSH) performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare and submit detailed reports to management and relevant authorities.
- Compliance Inspections : Conduct regular WSH compliance inspections across all work sites to ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
- Employee Engagement : Clarify WSH program requirements to employees and provide guidance on safe work practices.
- Training & Coaching : Develop and deliver safety briefings and training sessions. Coach team members on conducting routine safety checks and hazard assessments.
- Incident Investigation : Lead investigations into WSH incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Documentation Review : Review and maintain Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Emergency Preparedness : Coordinate and conduct Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) drills. Ensure the maintenance and readiness of emergency response equipment.
- Program Coordination : Coordinate WSH program initiatives, including risk management plans, to promote a safe working environment.
- Safety Culture Development : Evaluate WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions, and practices to identify performance gaps. Recommend improvements to enhance safety culture.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure implementation of WSH policies and procedures in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and other relevant regulations.
Candidate Requirements
Education : Diploma or Degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or a related field.Experience : At least 2 years of relevant experience in workplace safety and health.Certification : Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). JKnowledge : Strong understanding of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and other safety regulations.Skills : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
