Roles & Responsibilities
Practical Lesson Preparation
- Assist teacher in the preparation of ingredients prior to the start of the
practical lessons.
Assist teacher in placing order for foodstuff and ingredientsAssist in the setting up and cleaning of food lab equipment andutensils
Stock Check
Replace broken glassware from stock and be responsible for allequipment used in the teaching of Food & Consumer Education /
Nutrition Food Science Practical Lessons.
Keep a stock book / excel stock sheet and breakage record to indicatenecessary replacements
Prepare an inventory of stocks annually for the annual stock takeexercise
Cleaning and Maintenance
Maintain and upkeep food lab equipment including stoves, ovens andother cooking equipment.
Responsible for the general cleanliness and safety of the food labs.Assist in general cleanliness of other department rooms such as artand music rooms.
Student Supervision
Supervise students in the food lab during the absence of the teacher(e.g. emergency toilet break)
Admin Duties
Ensure goods delivered are as per orderHelp to keep notice board up to date (Use Microsoft word to createnew signs and labels)
During School holidays and curriculum downtime, the personnel maybe asked to help out with any other duties as and when assigned.
In the event of downtime during the FCE curriculum, The Food LabAssistant will be deployed to assist in the General Office or any other
areas required.
Any other duties as and when assigned by the teachers / HOD.Tell employers what skills you have
