Position Description
The Head of Production is responsible for coordinating the various disciplines within the Operations AMRO department related to staffing and standardization, ensuring a healthy and sustainable workforce within Operations AMRO. Additionally, this role oversees personnel allocation and scheduling of production teams, development of the workforce, and continuous improvement of standards and working methods.
Part A - CORE TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Resource Management
- Own and manage the Resource Management process within AMRO.
- Ensure AMRO Operations meet objectives for aligning labor hour coverage with Operational and financial requirements and fulfill daily, weekly, and monthly staffing needs at minimal cost.
Leadership Responsibilities
Provide hierarchical leadership to Production Leads, Production Planning & Control, Project support officer, C-staff and Structures team lead.Coordinate technical guidance and onboarding of new employees and interns in collaboration with the training coordinator.Lead departmental meetings with production Leads, Production Planning & Control, Engineering and Training to discuss shared topics including planning, commitments, working methods, SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality), cost control, and process and quality improvements; actively contribute to follow-up action implementation.Conduct performance appraisals and development discussions with Production Leads, Production Planning & Control, Project support officer, C-staff and Structures team lead.Key Responsibilities & Performance Areas
Standards
Develop and continuously improve the FSA Production Standard and standard documentation such as Standard operating procedures and policies.Design and implement training and development programs for all personnel within Operations AMRO.Implement short-term absence policies, conduct return-to-work and frequent absence meetings, and manage long-term absence in collaboration with HR and occupational health services.Reporting
Develop KPIs for operational processes based on FSA Project Management and Production Standards, in collaboration with the Head of programs, Managing director and Head of Supply chain.Ensure appropriate structure and utility of reporting from support departments to meet Operations’ information needs.Part B - Required Experience, Competencies & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical (aircraft maintenance) or business discipline.Experience and knowledge in production planning and monitoring related to aircraft line / base maintenance.Familiarity with organizational processes, procedures, manuals, technical handbooks, and relevant IT systems.Strong communication skills due to frequent interaction with employees, customers and authorities.Proven leadership skills.In-depth understanding of business models, organizational structure, procedures, and regulations.Knowledge of production methods, products, markets, and business dynamics.Knowledge of contract law and export compliance regulations.Knowledge of logistics management.Completion of IPMA-C / D certification or equivalent project management trainingTell employers what skills you have
