Roles & Responsibilities

Job Posting : Senior Systems Engineer

Role Overview

This role involves managing and delivering IT systems infrastructure solutions for enterprise, government, and Defence clients. The position is open to experienced professionals, with responsibilities and expectations scaled accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Design, deploy, integrate and secure systems infrastructure including compute, storage, applications and virtualization platforms.
  • Apply industry-standard security hardening practices and perform remediation or provide justification for scan results identified during Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT).
  • Work closely with Project Managers and cross-domain teams to ensure project delivery aligns with timelines and quality standards.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead implementation of complex infrastructure solutions and projects.
  • Ensure alignment with customer requirements and industry best practices.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

    • Design & Review

  • Participate in technical design and review processes.
  • Develop low-level technical designs and present solutions to customers.

    • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal teams to gather and clarify technical requirements.

    • Documentation

  • Create and maintain system documentation including configuration guides, implementation plans, operational procedures, etc.
  • Maintain and improve system documentation templates (SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams).

    • Requirements

    Education

  • Diploma or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

    • Technical Proficiency

    Candidates should have hands-on experience with some of the following technologies :

  • Operating Systems : Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Servers : Dell EMC, HPE, Nutanix
  • Virtualization : VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Applications : Active Directory, Microsoft Clustering, SCVMM, Certificate Authority
  • Monitoring Tools : SolarWinds, Microsoft SCOM
  • Patching Tools : WSUS, SCCM, Red Hat Satellite, Tanium
  • Backup Solutions : Cohesity Veritas, Veeam, Dell EMC, Commvault
  • Storage Systems : Dell EMC, HPE, Hitachi Vantara, NetApp
  • Automation : Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform
  • Containerization : Docker, Kubernetes
  • Security : Experience applying CIS benchmarks and security hardening
  • Networking Fundamentals : WAN / LAN, TCP / IP protocols

    • Certifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat, Nutanix, DELL EMC) are highly desirable.
