About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled L2 Network Operations Engineer to join our Network Operations team. This role is pivotal in maintaining network stability, managing critical incidents, and ensuring procedural readiness for high-severity events within our Cisco-based Data Center environment. The ideal candidate will take ownership of emergency access protocols, ensuring seamless coordination during outages and maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Critical Incident Response (L2) :
- Act as the senior escalation point for normal network incidents and failures.
- Lead fault isolation, root cause analysis, and resolution for Cisco Nexus CORE network devices (N2K, N5K, N7K, N9K).
- Provide technical guidance to L1 engineers during critical situations.
Procedural Design & Documentation :
Develop, document, and implement clear emergency procedures for responding to severe hardware failures (e.g., fan / thermal events).Ensure procedural readiness for rapid Data Center intervention during critical incidents.Access Management & Compliance :
Manage and maintain the Access Request (CAR ID) process or equivalent emergency access protocols.Ensure all access documentation and approvals are in place to prevent service delays during emergencies.Data Center Access Coordination :
Liaise with Data Center Operations and Customer Cage teams to pre-clear procedural dependencies.Ensure no barriers exist to immediate access for urgent network repair or recovery activities.Operational Management :
Support daily network operations and configuration management of Cisco network devices.Provide operational support for Cisco Firewall, Cisco ISE, and related systems.Maintain a basic understanding of Windows VMs used in operational environments.Process Improvement :
Drive ITIL-based process optimization, focusing on Incident, Problem, and Emergency Change Management.Identify and eliminate procedural bottlenecks that affect network uptime and availability.Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Skills :
3–5 years of hands-on experience managing and supporting Cisco Data Center network devices.Strong knowledge of Cisco Nexus platforms (N2K, N5K, N7K, N9K).Working experience with Cisco Firewalls and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).Certifications :
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Mandatory.Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Availability :
