Research Assistant (Vitro Assay)

Institute For Digital Molecular Analytics & Science (IDMxS) is a unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by National Research Foundation, Ministry of Education (Singapore), Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore. Hosted by NTU, IDMxS is focused on development of core science to drive a paradigm shift in molecular detection and analysis to link the biomolecular world of life with the networked world of technology.

We are looking for a Research Assistant to develop translational potential of IDMxS technologies within the institute. The role will focus on in vitro toxicity platform development.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical assays as part of industrial validation studies.
• Execute biophysical/biochemistry experiments and perform data analysis.
• Ensure effective communication among group members.
• Ensure accurate and systematic documentation of laboratory work.
• Comply with all laboratory safety standards and guidelines.
• Assist in lab management matters when necessary.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biotechnology, microbiology or a related field.
• Preferred experience in in vitro assay development and hands-on work with bottom-up reconstitution of biological interfaces.
• Proficiency in fluorescence microscopy, spectroscopy, bacterial cell assays, and biochemical assays.
• Familiarity with OECD irritancy assays.
• Strong communication skills; able to work independently; good problem-solving abilities; meticulous with strong organisational and time-management skills.
