As a key member of our ESH team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations.
Job Description :
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining ESH programs, policies, and procedures to minimize the organization's impact on the environment, prevent accidents, and promote a safe working environment.
Responsibilities :
- Lead all activities related to process safety in accordance with major hazard installation regulations.
- Ensure plant process safety information is up-to-date.
- Oversee the budget for ESH-related expenses.
- Approve purchases of ESH-related consumables and equipment.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and stakeholder requirements.
- Support major plant shutdown activities.
- Maintain the legal register and monitor compliance.
- Organize required assessments (e.g., stack emissions, IHM, noise).
- Coordinate employee health assessments.
- Lead risk and EAI assessments for any process changes.
- Develop, review, and update ESH-related work procedures and SOPs.
- Handle ad hoc ESH tasks as assigned.
- Liaise with authorities for licensing or changes in hazardous substance limits.
- Investigate incidents and report non-conformities to relevant authorities.
- Plan and coordinate internal and external ESH training programs.
- Conduct regular coaching and feedback sessions.
- Monitor employee performance and ensure required competency levels.
Requirements :
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills :
A degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Certified WSH Officer (Level C).Certified Confined Space Assessor and Work-at-Height (WAH) Assessor.BizSafe Level 2 certification.At least five years of relevant experience, including three years in a similar role.Experience in vendor management and ISO systems.Familiarity with liaising with government agencies.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate level).Strong leadership skills to manage the ESH team and meet departmental KPIs.Knowledge of ISO 45001, SS651, and ISO 14001 standards.Skilled in conducting risk assessments and EAI assessments.Experienced in leading accident investigations.Understanding of the ACTA framework.Good planning and organizational skills to manage tasks and resources effectively.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Passion for workplace safety and health.Demonstrates integrity and professionalism.Firm yet fair when addressing issues and managing staff.Flexible, proactive, and willing to go the extra mile.
