Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and identify safety, health, and environmental risks for all areas of the Company
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Review, develop and implement EHS policies and procedures
  • Monitor compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Provide advice and relevant support to the Company in relation to any changes in legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring that any applicable changes are incorporated into relevant policies and procedure and relevant training and / or support is put in place for staff and workers.
  • Analyse and report to the EHS Committee in relation to accidents and incidents (including near misses), carrying out investigations where necessary.
  • Assist managers in carrying out risk assessments across all areas of the Company including project sites.
  • Deliver EHS training internally and advise on and facilitate any identified specialist EHS training.
  • Respond to day to day EHS issues as required.
  • Carry out site inspections and audits and provide advice and support to managers / staff where corrective actions are required.
  • Liaise and coordinate EHS matters with external parties.
  • Responsible for recording, collecting and analysing the Company’s EHS data and to manage and monitor the EHS performance.
  • Function as a key member of the Site’s WSH / Environmental Committee and shall attend all WSH / Environmental Committee Meetings, environmental inspections and environmental emergency drills.
  • Support WSH personnel / ECO with works, manpower, plant, machinery and equipment schedules for his / her advance planning.
  • Responsible and accountable for prompt EHS measures inclusive of rectification works as identified and highlighted by EHS personnel in their routine inspection and WSH / Environmental Committee meetings.
  • Ensure sub-contractors made prior submissions of their company’s organization chart, project staff and workers’ name list, photocopy of identity card / work permit and safety orientation certificate (SOC), competency certificates, safe work procedures detailing the step-by –step sequence of the work process, safe work practices for use of machinery, equipment and work tool and risk assessment report, relevant authorized examiner’s (A.E) test certificates for machinery, lifting gear, cranes, etc., to the ESH Officer / ECO.
  • Promote safety culture and proactive environmental sustainability

Job Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Workplace Safety & Health
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Effective computer skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Effective time management
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with Ministry of Manpower
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Workplace Safety & Health industry.
  • Familiarize with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
