Roles & Responsibilities

ALATAS is an international crane & deck machinery repair specialist and offers crane and deck machinery related repair services and parts supply to the Merchant Marine- and Offshore industry.

Alatas Crane Services operates out of 14 offices worldwide. We offer field service repairs, inspections, overload load testing, dry-dock repair supervision, component repairs, spare parts supply, technical support as well as supply of new cranes and upgrades to existing ones.

Our multi-disciplined Service Engineers are professionals in their field and are available attend to and solve crane and deck machinery problems of any kind.

To support our Marine Crane & Deck Machinery Service operations , we are employing experienced Ship Electrician - Ship Cranes as follows :

JOB DESCRIPTION :

To carry out field service attendances to troubleshoot & repair Deck Cranes, Grabs, Windlasses, Hatch Cover Hydraulics and Davits.

REQUIREMENTS :

The successful candidate will have solid working experience with marine crane and deck machinery makers such as :

MacGREGOR

IHI

MITSUBISHI

LIEBHERR

TTS MARINE

TSUJI

HATLAPA

PUSNES, NIPPON PUSNES etc.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE :

Min 5 years' experience sailing as Electrical Officer on bulkers equipped with deck cranes and has carried out troubleshooting and repairing Marine Cranes, Windlasses & other hydraulic systems on board,

In-depth knowledge and understanding of PLC controlled electro-hydraulic cranes & hydraulic machinery.

Able to read and comprehend electric and hydraulic diagrams.

Able to independently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems.

Able to supervise a team of mechanics and carry out large repair projects as Lead Engineer on board, on voyage and in Ship Yards.

Able to write technical reports and able to communicate with owners' representatives.

Previous employment as service engineer with one of the leading deck crane manufacturers will be an added advantage.

Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) will be an added advantage
