Job Responsibilities for QS Manager – Building Construction Reinstatement Work
1. Project Cost Management
- Develop and manage overall project budgets and cost estimates for reinstatement works.
- Prepare detailed cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgets.
2. Tendering and Procurement
Lead the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.Negotiate and finalize contractual terms with stakeholders and vendors.3. Contract Administration
Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions.Manage variations, claims, and disputes effectively and efficiently.4. Reinstatement Works Planning & Coordination
Oversee the planning and scheduling of reinstatement activities in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.5. Cost Control & Reporting
Implement and maintain cost control systems and procedures.Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to inform project decision-making.Track and report on project financial performance.6. Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the QS team, fostering a high-performance work environment.Allocate tasks and responsibilities within the QS team, ensuring efficient workflow.Conduct performance appraisals and provide professional development opportunities for team members.7. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all QS activities comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.Conduct regular audits and checks to maintain quality standards in cost management and documentation.8. Risk Management
Identify potential cost and contractual risks associated with reinstatement works.Develop mitigation strategies and manage risk exposure proactively.9. Stakeholder Communication
Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.Present cost reports, proposals, and updates clearly and professionally.10. Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all QS activities, contracts, and correspondence.Ensure documentation is organized and readily accessible for audits and reviews.Job Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience in cost & contract management.4 to 10 years of related works experience in cost & contract.Excellent knowledge in commercial, procurement and contractual practices.Good knowledge of construction methods & materials.Self-motivated, responsible and meticulous.Proficiency in EnglishProficiency in Microsoft Office software i.e., MS power point, excel spreadsheet, Words and Outlook.Experience in commercial fit-out works will be preferred.Tell employers what skills you have
