Roles & Responsibilities
Working Hours :
- Mondays to Fridays : 7 : 30am to 4 : 30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Experience :
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lab Technician / AssistantRelevant experience as a Lab Technician / Assistant in a primary school setting is highly advantageousDesirable Qualities of Personnel :
Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teachers, students and other stakeholders.Well-organised, meticulous and detailed in carrying out tasksJob Scopes :
Maintain general cleanliness and functionality of the Science labs and equipment.Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and Science resource materials.Maintain a catalogue of lab resources to assist teachers in planning of Science activities.Prepare lab materials / resources to ensure experiment is carried out effectively.Assist in the preparation of apparatus and equipment for lessons.Assist teachers when experiments are carried out during lessons.Keep a log on loaning and returning of apparatus by teachers.Sit in during Science Olympiad lessons.Any other jobs assigned by the department - administrative work which include collation of teaching and learning materials and preparation of resources necessary for teaching and learning in Science, helping during Science Practical Assessments.Tell employers what skills you have
