Roles & Responsibilities

Working Hours :

Mondays to Fridays : 7 : 30am to 4 : 30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Experience :

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lab Technician / Assistant

Relevant experience as a Lab Technician / Assistant in a primary school setting is highly advantageous

Desirable Qualities of Personnel :

Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teachers, students and other stakeholders.

Well-organised, meticulous and detailed in carrying out tasks

Job Scopes :

Maintain general cleanliness and functionality of the Science labs and equipment.

Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and Science resource materials.

Maintain a catalogue of lab resources to assist teachers in planning of Science activities.

Prepare lab materials / resources to ensure experiment is carried out effectively.

Assist in the preparation of apparatus and equipment for lessons.

Assist teachers when experiments are carried out during lessons.

Keep a log on loaning and returning of apparatus by teachers.

Sit in during Science Olympiad lessons.

Any other jobs assigned by the department - administrative work which include collation of teaching and learning materials and preparation of resources necessary for teaching and learning in Science, helping during Science Practical Assessments.
