Job description5+ years of experience working with investment banks, asset managers,modity houses, investment advisors or associated software vendors Thorough understanding of the trade life cycle formodities products, such as Gas, Power, Oil, Metals, Ags or Freight. Must be able to discuss details of these products with Portfolio Managers, Analysts and Risk Managers. Experience supporting physicalmodities trading Experience supporting Production environments within an ITIL framework and Development environments using agile methodologies Strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities, including being able to interpret, understand and troubleshoot internally developed systems Experience supportingmodities trading platforms such as Trayport Joule, WebICE and EEX Experience supporting CTRM / ETRM platforms such as ION Endur / CXL and Openlink Knowledge of Market Data services – Trayport / B-PIPE / MorningStar Knowledge of Messaging platforms – RabbitMQ / Solace / Kafka SQL experience across various database implementations, including MSSQL Exposure to support of Linux, C++, C#, Python based applications Operate with a high degree of accuracy with close attention to detail Strong written and verbalmunication skills
Our client is one of the largest financial firms globally. Due to business needs, an application support engineer with a background in fixed ie or FICC is needed to join their team.
Role :
- Enhance, support and maintain the firm’smodities front, middle and back-office systems
- Work as a part of the global Application Support team based in Chicago, New York, London, San Francisco, Houston, Hong Kong and Singapore
- Proactively engage with PMs, Traders, and Analysts to resolve issues and identify improvement opportunities
- Documentmon support issues, trade flows and procedures on Confluence
- Roll out, setup, and educate end-users on new product implementations
- Support other geographic locations , monitor jobs running overnight in Asia, EU and US.
- Work with external vendors technical support teams to resolve issues and deliver strategic enhancements
- Provide escalation support for other regions, including evenings and weekends, on a rotational basis
