Roles & Responsibilities
The Floorball Instructor is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing a structured and developmentally appropriate training programme for students in alignment with the school’s CCA objectives, MOE frameworks, and competition preparation needs.
The instructor will work closely with the teacher-in-charge to :
Key Responsibilities
Programme Design & Delivery
Plan and conduct engaging training sessions (e.g., weekly CCA) with structured progression.
Teach essential floorball techniques : stick handling, passing, shooting, defending, goalkeeping, and teamwork.
Incorporate tactical and strategic concepts such as positioning, offensive and defensive transitions, and set plays.
Differentiate training for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players.
Competition & Performance Preparation
Train and select students for inter-school tournaments (e.g., NSG) and school-based competitions.
Conduct internal trials, friendly matches, and mock games to assess readiness.
Guide students in sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play during competitions.
Character & Values Development
Integrate school values, Social-Emotional Competencies (SEC) , and 21st-Century Competencies (21CC) into training.
Encourage reflection, resilience, and responsible decision-making through sports.
Mentor students to build confidence, integrity, and leadership qualities.
Administration & Communication
Collaborate with teachers-in-charge on attendance, progress tracking, and competition logistics.
Submit lesson plans, risk assessments, and progress updates when required.
Ensure proper care, usage, and inventory of floorball equipment.
Safety & Conduct
Enforce safe playing practices and ensure a positive training environment.
Follow MOE and school safety guidelines, including emergency procedures and risk management protocols.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum relevant coaching certification from recognised governing bodies (e.g., Singapore Floorball Association, Sport Singapore, or equivalent).
Preferably MOE-approved or registered instructor under the Sports Education Programme (SEP).
Proven experience in coaching school teams or youth players in floorball.
Familiarity with the National School Games competition structure and regulations.
Skills & Competencies
