Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) has a significant presence in Asia, with offices in key locations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore as well as Indonesia with our HBT association. With over 40 years of experience in the region, HSF Kramer provides comprehensive legal services across various industries, including energy, infrastructure, financial services and technology.

As a part of the global Business Development team, the Senior Business Development Manager will execute the firm's clients and markets strategy. Working closely with the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure leadership teams, the role will drive profitable growth, enhance the client experience, and build new business development capabilities.

The Senior Business Development Manager will provide commercial advice on strategic plans, drive go-to-market strategies, manage key client accounts, support major pursuits, and collaborate with partners to develop business development strategies.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a professional services business development environment. Strong leadership, commercial awareness, innovative thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. You should be proactive, deadline-driven, and possess a strategic mindset with a focus on execution. Building positive relationships with stakeholders is crucial.

To be successful in this role you should have :

• Appropriate undergraduate / postgraduate degree qualification(s)
• At least eight years' experience working in a BD role in a law firm or other professional services environment.
• Previous experience within a similar Marketing & Business Development Manager role with a focus on Energy & Infrastructure, within the legal sector would be desirable and help ensure success is achieved within this role.
• Knowledge of the Asian legal market desirable but not essential
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team
• Confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload under pressure
• High degree of attention to detail
• Proven ability to establish professional credibility
• Excellent service delivery skills and high level of responsiveness
