My client is seeking a highly independent and proactive Network Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in an IT Services environment and possesses a unique blend of strong technical skills.

about the job

50% Network Operations (L2 / L3) :

Serve as the trusted escalation point for complex network incidents, providing critical Level 2 and Level 3 support.

Ensure the high availability and security of client network infrastructures, rapidly diagnosing and resolving issues across routing, switching, security, and wireless platforms.

Conduct proactive network monitoring and performance tuning to identify and address bottlenecks before they impact users.

Manage network changes according to established change control procedures and conduct regular maintenance windows.

50% Project Leadership & Deployment :

Lead the execution of diverse network projects, managing the entire lifecycle from initial technical design and planning through to final configuration and handover.

Perform hands-on configuration, deployment, and seamless integration of new network technologies, including SD-WAN and advanced Firewall solutions.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for procurement, scheduling, and high-level technical resolution.

Maintain and update network documentation (diagrams, procedures, inventory) to ensure accuracy and compliance across all client environments.

skills and experience required

Mandatory experience working as a Network Engineer within a Small or Medium-sized (SME) IT Services / Managed Services Provider environment.

Proven expertise in L2 and L3 network maintenance and troubleshooting.

Deep understanding and hands-on experience with routing protocols, specifically Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) .
