Core Responsibilities :
- Plan and layout welding work on titanium, aluminum, nickel based alloys and stainless steel parts, following standardized work procedures and parameters.
- Comply with engine manuals, operation sheets and parameter sheets.
- Check and verify part number and serial number against traveler.
- Develop and fabricate fixtures as required.
- Prep part by cleaning with acetone, polishing, wire brush or scotch bright before welding.
- Set up equipment to accommodate variations in parts and ensure quality welds are achieved.
- Position parts in jigs or fixtures.
- Support audits and correct audit findings.
- Support improvement activities using BES tools.
- Weld butt joint or build up worn or defective surfaces on components.
- Use welding processes in accordance with practices and specifications found in engine manuals.
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Blend, grind or polish weld ensuring specified minimum wall requirement is met.
- Use gas welding, brazing and any combination of welding processes in accordance with standard practices and specification found in engine manual.
- Use calipers, micrometers, indicators and gauges to measure repaired part and ensure dimensional requirements are met.
- Maintain welding certification in specific welds and material as required.
- Highlight operation discrepancies and abnormal part condition to immediate Cell Leader.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area.
- Wear necessary protective gloves, masks, shields and coats as required.
- Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations during course of duties.
- Thoroughly complete production paper work and systems transactions.

More than 5 years of welding experience in an aerospace environmentBasic shop math, read, write, and interpret English, basic mechanical skills, effectively utilize lifting devices, ability to interpret travelers and work instructions, ability to verify log and procedures for accuracySkills Required
