The role involves supporting public engagement initiatives by educating and interacting with members of the public to communicate key messages, promote awareness, and enhance understanding of programmes, services, or initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Engage members of the public through face-to-face interactions at designated locations or events to promote and educate client's programmes and activities to enhance public understanding
- Communicate information clearly and accurately to respond to public queries in a professional and friendly manner
- Assist in outreach activities, exhibitions, roadshows, or guided sessions to support public engagement efforts
- Encourage public participation and foster positive experiences during engagements
- Observe and gather informal feedback from the public and report insights to the team to improve engagement strategies
- Support operational needs including setup, teardown, and adherence to engagement protocols to ensure smooth event execution
- Ensure compliance with safety, conduct, and organisational guidelines at all times during public interactions
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Demonstrate comfort interacting with diverse age groups and backgrounds to effectively engage a broad audience
- Exhibit clear verbal communication skills and maintain a confident, approachable during public interactions
- Explain information simply and engagingly, adapting to the audience’s level of understanding
- Possess prior experience in customer service, public engagement, education, outreach, or facilitation to enhance role effectiveness
- Willingness to work part-time, including weekends if required, and commit to 4-hour shifts across multiple days per week (2 weekdays & 2 weekends)
- Show reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
Contract Period: 3 months
Working arrangement: 2 weekdays & 2 weekends (4 hours/day)
