Roles & Responsibilities
Business Development Manager will be responsible for exploration and development of new market segments and business opportunities. This role focuses on identifying and penetrating emerging markets, leveraging technical expertise to align solutions with customer needs, and driving growth through strategic partnerships and innovative offerings.
- Research and analyze emerging market segments (e.g., renewable energy, automation, digital twin, AI, IoT, or advanced manufacturing) to identify high-growth opportunities aligned with the company’s engineering capabilities.
- Evaluate and pursue new business opportunities, such as innovative engineering solutions, product applications, or service offerings tailored to new market segments.
- Design and implement targeted strategies to enter new market segments, ensuring technical and commercial viability.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including technical decision-makers, industry leaders, and potential partners, to establish trust and credibility in new markets.
- Identify and qualify leads in new segments through industry events, technical forums, digital platforms, and referrals, leveraging engineering expertise to address customer pain points.
- Development of a new range of services from concept to implementation, including market research and strategies development
- Developing short, medium- and longer-term strategy
- Create compelling, technically accurate proposals and presentations that highlight the company’s engineering solutions to secure new clients or partnerships.
Qualification & Requirements
Minimum Recognised bachelor’s degree in engineeringEngineering degree with at least 5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or market expansion, with a focus on engineering-driven industries or solutions.Proven track record of successfully entering new market segments or securing engineering-related business opportunities.Frequent overseas travel required, sometimes short noticeAn organised and structured approach to managing activitiesStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsStrong in written communication and presentation skillThe Employee shall devote the whole of his / her time, attention and skill to his / her duties hereunder and in addition such other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required of him / her for the proper and efficient running of the Employer’s business.
