AI Programme Manager

Innovation is our domain and the AI Programme Manager (PgM) needs to understand the problem space that the team addresses. We help Government agencies innovate with programmes like Incubators, Hackathons, and the <WTHack> product hackathon series.

As a PgM, you will play a key role in strategising, planning and executing programmes to drive adoption of artificial intelligence innovation, and to foster the development of related skills among a diverse community. This role blends programme management and business development to drive impactful AI initiatives in this rapidly evolving field. The PgM should develop technical fluency in areas such as GenAI technology, be knowledgeble of the central tools GovTech has produced, be proficient in key AI tools, as well as how to develop POCs from a process-perspective.

You will help to shape Government AI innovation landscape by designing programmes that directly influence AI adoption and capability-building across the public sector. You will identify strategic opportunities, build partnerships, and drive initiatives that expand our reach and impact across government agencies and industry stakeholders. While deep technical expertise in AI is not required, a strong curiosity in the latest AI technology, coupled with experience working in tech or related roles on driving innovation through technology are essential.

Job Responsibilities

Programme Development & Management

• Navigate ambiguity in the complex AI / POC development space.

• Strategise, design and deliver national-level AI innovation programmes that align with public sector transformation goals.

• Evaluate teams applying to join programmes with considerations such as clarity of problem statement, availability/limitations of existing products/platforms that might address the problem, clarity on the problem’s impact and addressable market.

• Understand complex technical concepts in order to connect with the relevant specialists and project planning.

• Orchestrate work across teams to execute a common goal. Actively facilitate seamless communication channels between technical teams and business units, ensuring cohesive alignment of proposed technology adoption with business goals.

• Define and drive programme success metrics and continuously refine initiatives based on feedback and outcomes.

• Oversee other aspects of programme planning, including programme logistics, finances/ budget, track KPIs and manage multiple workstreams independently.

Business Development & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Develop engagement strategies and value alignment. Identify and engage potential partners or across the public service and within the GovTech.

• Pitch value propositions and uncover synergies with stakeholders.

• Drive innovation and adoption of digital products and services.

• Manage stakeholder expectations, build partnerships.

• Track KPIs aligned with organisational goals and programme outcomes.

Content & Communication

• Market, engage and build communities for the Innovation domain.

• Lead programme campaigns (e.g., social media, newsletters) to drive programme awareness and participation.

• Ensure program collateral and communications align with the overall vision and objectives.

• Host medium/large sized events such as hackathons and incubators or as a moderator on a panel.
